Arabic English Baby Book Recommendations

Favorite Baby Arabic Reads (While We Wait!)

While our books are still on pre-order, I wanted to share with you two Arabic-English baby books by other authors that my kids have really loved: These Chicks by Leila Taji and Alif Baa Taa by Asma Wahab.

These Chicks

These Chicks re-tells the classic Levantine nursery rhyme with adorable illustrations. The transliteration of this one is so easy for non-native speakers to understand, and the big letters are helpful as well. Because it is a song, this book is in colloquial Arabic. One thing I really love about this book is the faded lettering on sounds that are not pronounced, which both keeps the spelling accurate while displaying the dialect. This is something that you'll find in our books as well.

Alif Baa Taa

Alif Baa Taa is a wonderful Arabic alphabet book for little ones. With simple colorful illustrations, it presents an object or animal for every letter of the Arabic alphabet, which helps both children and non-native speakers alike with a simple memory device for learning their letters.

Both These Chicks and Alif Baa Taa are wonderful additions to any child's bookshelf and serve as fantastic tools for fostering a love of the Arabic language and culture. As we continue our journey in publishing bilingual children's books, we are excited to share resources that inspire and educate young readers. If you’re looking for quality Arabic-English books that promote language learning, these titles are definitely worth checking out!

While you're exploring these great books, don't forget to pre-order our upcoming titles at Hear Me Mama! Our books are designed to engage children and help them connect with their heritage in meaningful ways.
